ENDOTARGET second biannual consortium meeting 2023

ENDOTARGET consortium gathered in Santiago de Compostela for the second biannual consortium meeting 2023

In the vibrant city of Santiago de Compostela, Spain, the ENDOTARGET consortium reconvened for its second biannual meeting from the 26th to the 27th of October 2023. Hosted at the Health Research Institute of Santiago de Compostela, within the esteemed Hospital Clínico Universitario de Santiago de Compostela, this two-day event was an important moment in the joint efforts to combat rheumatic diseases.

The consortium, comprised of dedicated partners, immersed themselves in a dynamic agenda focused on mutual updates, idea exchange, and engaging discussions to enhance the project’s progress. With a united commitment to success, participants delved deep into the specific tasks outlined in the various work packages.

On the opening day, the General Assembly and the Ethical Board meeting were convened, which set the basis for the extensive discussions that followed. At the end of the day, the partners enjoyed a delicious dinner, savoring tasty Spanish tapas and strengthening their sense of community at the same time.

Day two commenced with presentations detailing the progress within each work package, providing a comprehensive overview of the consortium’s achievements. Following a flavorful lunch featuring traditional tapas, the focus shifted to the clinical trial meeting, where strategic planning and collaboration took center stage.

In the afternoon, ENDOTARGET organized a symposium, joining forces with two other pioneering projects: GlycanTrigger and EULAR MicMuc. Salomé Pinho, coordinator of GlycanTrigger, delivered an insightful seminar on “glycome in health and disease” and introduced the GlycanTrigger project to the participants. Subsequently, an introduction to the EULAR MICMUC study group set the stage for a collaborative roundtable discussion. Partners engaged in thoughtful conversations about methodologies, shared insights, and explored potential collaborative activities, culminating in the creation of a strategic action plan.

At the end of the meeting, participants left with a renewed sense of purpose and commitment to the ENDOTARGET mission. Following this successful meeting, the ENDOTARGET consortium looks forward to building on the momentum gained and working hand in hand to achieve the milestones set for the next phase of the project.
