Rheumatoid Arthritis Awareness Week 2023

11. – 17. September 2023

Living with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a constant battle against a relentless and invisible foe. For those living with this chronic autoimmune disease, even the simplest daily tasks can become a daunting challenge. RA Awareness Week 2023 aims to shine a light on the hidden struggles of people living with RA through its theme, #RAdrain.

The concept of #RAdrain highlights the profound impact RA has on the lives of those affected. Imagine starting your day with the task of making breakfast, a seemingly ordinary task for many. But for someone living with RA, it can be an uphill battle. The pain, stiffness and fatigue that accompany the morning routine can drain their energy before the day even begins. Driving to work, dealing with stress at work and social interactions can add to this drain. It’s important to understand that RA is not just about joint pain; it affects a person’s overall wellbeing, including their emotional and mental health.

The week-long campaign aims to raise awareness of how everyday activities can drain the energy of people living with RA, leaving them exhausted and isolated. Let’s come together to shine a light on the daily challenges faced by individuals living with rheumatoid arthritis and support those who are affected by RA.

Together, we can make a difference!
