Pain Awareness Month 2026
💙🎗️ September is Pain Awareness Month
⚡ Pain is one of the most common reasons people seek healthcare, yet for many people living with chronic pain, their experiences remain unseen, misunderstood, or underestimated.
This year’s Pain Awareness Month, led by the International Association for the Study of Pain, aims to raise awareness, foster understanding, and encourage action to improve the lives of people affected by pain.
Throughout September, the campaign highlights different aspects of pain and pain management:
🩺 Week 1: Understand pain through rigorous science.
📚 Week 2: Advocate for meaningful participation in pain care.
🎓 Week 3: Partner with people whose lived experience can strengthen research and education.
🌍 Week 4: Advance knowledge by learning, collaborating, and sharing evidence across the global pain community.
Pain affects every aspect of life, from work and education to relationships and mental wellbeing. Raising awareness helps reduce stigma, improve access to care, and promote evidence-based approaches to pain management.
At the ENDOTARGET EU Project, we are working to better understand the links between chronic inflammation, gut health, and rheumatic diseases, contributing to research that may support improved pain management and quality of life for patients in the future. 🔬💙
