Juvenile Arthritis Awareness Month 2025

July is Juvenile Arthritis Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness about the millions of children worldwide who suffer from juvenile arthritis (JA), a chronic and often misunderstood condition.

Did you know:

🔹 JA is not just an “adult” disease. Certain types of arthritis only occur in children, just as others are exclusive to adults.

🔹 JA is a chronic illness. It can last for months, years, or even a lifetime.

🔹 Treatment offers hope. Many children respond well to treatment and may experience long-term remission.

🔹 Family ties matter. Research shows that siblings and first cousins of affected children may be at higher risk.

🔹 Research is vital. Since 1970, over 250 scientists have received funding to study arthritis, including $1.6 million allocated between 2018 and 2019 alone by the CDC.

At the ENDOTARGET EU Project, we are committed to advancing understanding of inflammatory diseases, including those that affect children, by exploring the complex connection between the gut microbiota, systemic inflammation, and immune function.

Every step we take in research and awareness brings us closer to better care, earlier diagnosis, and more effective interventions, especially when started in childhood.
