🌐🧬 Join ENDOTARGET EU Project’s 3rd Webinar!
“Modeling the Gut–Joint Axis: Organ-on-Chip Approaches for Chronic Inflammation”
We are excited to introduce one of our distinguished speakers:
🎤 Dr Nathalie Sauvonnet
Institut Pasteur, Paris
Talk: “Tissue Microenvironments & Intestinal Pathologies”
In her presentation, Dr Sauvonnet will explore how the human gut functions as a dynamic 3D barrier, constantly exposed to mechanical forces and microbial interactions. Using cutting-edge organ-on-chip (OoC) technology, her team has shown how:
🔬 Shigella exploits gut architecture and motion to enhance invasion and barrier disruption
🧫 Mechanical stimulation and microbial metabolites (notably short-chain fatty acids) strengthen the epithelial barrier and reduce inflammation
🦠 OoC systems combined with human intestinal organoids can model infection, immune responses, and even reduce SARS-CoV-2-associated inflammation
🧑⚕️ An advanced inflammation-on-chip model, incorporating patient-derived immune cells, can replicate key features of inflammatory bowel disease and reveal how specific microbiota metabolites may alleviate colonic inflammation
Her work highlights the immense potential of organ-on-chip platforms to unravel gut health, infection mechanisms, and immune regulation.
📅 Don’t miss this opportunity to engage with leading experts at the forefront of translational bioengineering and inflammatory disease research.
🎟️ The webinar is FREE, but registration is required. Don’t miss out!
